Here's some history behind Wassail:
Wassail originated in medieval England.
The word "wassail" comes from the Old English phrase "waes hael," meaning "be in good health" or "be whole," and it was often used as a toast to health and prosperity.
Wassailing also refers to a festive custom where groups of people would go from house to house, singing songs and offering wassail in exchange for food or small gifts—similar to Christmas caroling.
