Temporary Exhibits
In addition to our permanent museum collection, we also rotate special, temporary exhibits that focus on unique historical perspectives and community heritage!
Stories Inked in Skin
July 08 - October 26, 2024
The ancient practice of tattooing has been used by various cultures worldwide to signify ancestry, religious faith, and status. The act of permanently marking oneself continues today as a form of self-expression, personal meaning, and memorialization. Stories Inked in Skin documents and explores the tattoos of Bastrop County residents and the meanings behind them.
The exhibition is free and will be available to the public from July 8 to October 26. For more information about viewing hours or to arrange group visits, contact us at 512-303-0057.
The holiday season is all about joy, togetherness, and cherished traditions. We’re inviting current and former Bastrop County residents to share their unique holiday traditions with us.
Whether you celebrate Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, or any other celebration, we want to hear from you!
