Pickin' on The Porch Revival
Pickin’ on the Porch started as one man’s front-porch jam and became a Bastrop music tradition. When musician Larry Wilson moved to town in 2011, he dreamed of building a home for live music. With a guitar, a porch, and an open invitation, he created a space where anyone—from beginners to pros—could gather, play, and enjoy music without judgment.
After a brief hiatus due to COVID, Pickin’ on the Porch is back thanks to a new partnership with the Bastrop County Museum & Visitor Center. Every four months, the porch spirit lives on in the Museum’s special exhibit room—no setlists, no pressure, just joyful, spontaneous music.
Free and open to all, this event continues Larry’s mission: not to spotlight talent, but to celebrate community through music.
Pickin' on the Porch Revival happens every quarter.
Next performance November 15, 12-1:30 pm
