About the event

To kick off the 250th anniversary of the United States, the Bastrop County Museum & Visitor Center is launching a community “Revolutionary Wall.” Throughout January, residents are invited to add the name or description of a person, event, or place in Bastrop County history that they believe was revolutionary. The wall will remain on display all month, and everyone is encouraged to take part in this community celebration of local history. For inspiration, there will be an exhibit of Sanborn Maps which are historic maps that document the expansion of Bastrop County through the years 1885 to 1934!

Additional programs and exhibits throughout the year will explore how the ideals of the American Revolution—liberty, resilience, and civic engagement—are reflected in our local history.
