About the event

The Bastrop Museum & Visitor Center is proud to announce a special event honoring Indigenous Peoples' Day: We All Stay Together. Join us for a day of celebration and education recognizing the rich heritage and contributions of Indigenous communities. 
This free event will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and will feature a variety of activities suitable for all ages, including guest speakers, artifact displays, performances, music, and children's activities. 

Guests include:

  • Bob O'Dell and Dave Cunningham will speak about the long-term friendship between the Tonkawa people and Texans, and their recent purchase of their sacred Red Mountain in Milam County.

  • "Thunderstar Drum Singers" will perform traditional Lakota Ceremony songs.
