About the event

Join us as we celebrate the momentous night that sparked a revolution! In anticipation of the 250th anniversary of the United States of America in 2026, our community is coming together to honor this historic milestone with a day full of meaningful activities and a spectacular evening reenactment. On April 12th, commemorate the night that changed history by taking part in a community commemoration of Paul Revere’s historic ride. Each business in downtown Bastrop will be given a lantern symbolizing the lanterns that Revere saw from the Old North Church steeple that spurred him on to warn his fellow countrymen that the Redcoats were coming! There will be other revolutionary activities, including a reading of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow’s legendary poem, Paul Revere’s Ride. This…
